Professor Jerry Alan Johnson is one of the few internationally recognized non-Chinese Grand Masters, practicing doctors, and Director/Professor of Medical Qigong Therapy. Having studied Chinese Energetic Medicine for more than forty-one years, he is recognized both in China and the West as America’s leading authority on Medical Qigong Therapy.
Professor Johnson is licensed as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (D.T.C.M.) in Beijing, China, by the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Health, and has served with national and international committees to promote and encourage the practice of Medical Qigong Therapy.
He is the Founder and Executive Director of the International Institute of Medical Qigong, in Monterey, California, and has designed several Medical Qigong programs which have been implemented into various T.C.M. Colleges and Medical Qigong Institutes throughout the United States, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Central America, England, France, Germany, Ireland, South Africa, and Sweden.
To date, Professor Johnson has presented many papers on clinical research utilizing Medical Qigong Therapy. He has also written and published over six Clinical Textbooks on the practice of Medical Qigong Therapy. These special textbooks are currently used in many T.C.M. Le Professeur Jerry Alan Johnson est l'un des rares Grands Maîtres, Docteurs praticiens et Directeur/Professeur de Qi Gong médical "non-chinois" à être internationalement reconnu. Il a étudié la médecine énergétique chinoise pendant plus de 41 ans et est reconnu en Chine et à l'Ouest comme la référence du Qi gong médical en Amérique.
Le Professeur Johnson est diplômé en tant que Docteur en médecine chinoise à Pekin, en Chine par le ministre de la santé et a oeuvré dans des comittés nationaux et internationaux pour promouvoir et encourager la pratique du Qi Gong médical.
Il est le fondateur et directeur executif de l''Institut International de Medical Qi Gong établis à Monterey en Californie. Le livre est en anglais mais très abordable à la lecture. Mon avis :
Cet ouvrage conséquent (710 pages tout de même !) est à mon sens le meilleur ouvrage disponible pour aborder les bases de la médecine traditionnelle chinoise. Celui-ci reprends en effet toutes les notions nécessaires à l'apprentissage et à la compréhension de cette discipline. C'est en effet par cette volonté que le lecteur comprenne les éléments exposés que cet ouvrage se distingue des autres. Méridiens, points d'acupunctures, organes Yin, organes Yang, Jing, Qi, Shen etc... Tout y est. Ainsi que certains sujets moins fréquemment abordés comme l'embryologie énergétique (pourtant très intéressante pour comprendre les structures énergétiques qui nous composent une fois né). Les schémas et illustrations, abondants dans tous les ouvrages de l'auteur, sont également d'une grande aide pour clarifier et se représenter certaines notions qui restent flous à la lecture d'autres auteurs.
Avec le tome 2, ce livre constitue pour moi une base théorique très solide pour appréhender l'humain sous le jour de la tradition chinoise. Que vous soyez pratiquants d'arts martiaux, de soins, ou de disciplines ésotériques, si vous souhaitez aller plus loin dans votre pratique par la compréhension des éléments et forces qui vous composent, ce livre vous intéressera, de mon point de vue, sûrement.
